INSIDE THE INNINGS

Omaha saw its opportunity in the bottom of the ninth as
Braden Rogers singled and Lombardi was hit by a pitch. Another single by Bondarchuk loaded the bases for the Mavericks with two outs. Bonar came up to the plate and rocked a line drive to center, but the SDSU outfielder was able to get under it for the third out.
The final runs happened in the 13th inning, as the Jackrabbits were able to plate three. A pop-up bunt resulted in an Omaha error that plated an SDSU runner for the fourth team run. Back-to-back single RBI by the Jackrabbits put them ahead over Omaha, 6-3. A DeBonville double and a Lombardi single for an RBI gave the Mavericks some life, but the gap was too large as SDSU held on for the 6-4 win.
