TULSA, Okla. – The Omaha women's soccer team dropped its Summit League opener 2-0 to Oral Roberts on Thursday at Case Soccer Complex.
The Mavericks are now 3-8-1 (0-1-0 Summit League), while the Golden Eagles improved to 6-7-0 (1-0-0).
The Golden Eagles got both of their goals in the second half. The first goal came in the 62nd minute as Brooklyn Eardley played a long pass to Jordan Langebartels in the penalty area. Langebartels tipped a pass to McKenzie Edwards at the top of the six-yard box for the opening goal.
Oral Roberts added an insurance goal with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. Shayla Padilla played a ball to Langebartels who cut the ball back before shooting the ball into the net to make the final 2-0.
Turning Point
Omaha had an opportunity to take the lead midway through the first half when
Erinoelle Clifton's shot hit the crossbar but bounded out for a goal kick.
