Normal, Ill. – The Omaha women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Illinois State on Sunday at Adelaide Street Field.
With the loss, the Mavericks are now 2-6-1 while the Redbirds improved to 4-4-2.
Illinois State struck for the first goal of the match in the fourth minute. Abby Basler sent a corner kick into the box. Kate Del Fava one-timed a shot into the goal.
In the final minute of the first half, Megan McEachern's shot deflected off an Omaha defender and into the lower right corner for a 2-0 Redbird advantage.
Omaha took 10 shots in the second half with five on goal, but the Illinois State keeper was able to keep the Mavericks scoreless.
