Omaha, Arkansas State Play to 1-1 Draw

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Omaha women's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw at Arkansas State on Sunday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.

The Mavericks moved to 0-1-1, while the Red Wolves went to 1-0-1 on the season.

Omaha opened the scoring early in the first half.  Brylie Meyer headed home a corner kick by Sophia Roux for her first career goal in the fifth minute.

Arkansas State scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute when Maggie Ertl put in her second goal of the season.  Victoria MacIntosh headed a free kick that found the head of Hailey Furio who settled the pass before finding Ertl for the game-tying goal.

In the second half, Omaha goalkeeper Ina Gudjonsdottir made a point-blank save on Furio's shot to keep the match tied.

In the overtime period, Gudjonsdottir made back-to-back saves to preserve the 1-1 draw.

-    Arkansas State outshot Omaha 18-11 in the match and held a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
-    Ina Gudjonsdottir played all 110 minutes for the Mavericks and made seven saves.  Megan McClure played all 110 minutes for the Red Wolves and made three saves.
-    Brylie Meyer scored her first career goal for the Mavericks in the first half.
-    Sophia Roux earned her first assist of the season.
