#MavericksInCanada Blog: An MLS Match in Montreal

#MavericksInCanada Blog: Post #5
by Seth Rinderknecht

Bonjour, this is Seth Rinderknecht here to share with you another adventurous day in Montreal.

Again we started the day with another well-balanced breakfast to prepare us for our morning workout. Around Noon, we departed to the nearest track we could find to do a little bit of running. Our goal for the day was a mile and a half under eight minutes and fifteen seconds. With the three long days that we had it made this run not an easy task, but we all performed well.

After a competitive run, we all grabbed our gear for the walk back to the hotel. Upon arriving, we had a couple hours to ourselves to shower and rest before we went to watch the Montreal Impact game. We took the subway to the game, which was a new experience for some of the guys. The Impact is the local MLS team in Montreal, and it was quite an interesting experience. Before the game, we stopped by the Olympic Stadium and got to see some cool history and see what is now an impressive monument.

The game was between Sporting KC and Montreal, and the stadium was packed full of rowdy Impact fans. They didn't miss a single beat. From the end of the national anthem all the way till the final whistle, they were cheering. The game ended with Montreal winning 2-0. The first was a screaming shot from the top of the 18; the second was a PK. After the game we took the subway back to get packed up and rested for our early morning tomorrow.

We're off to Toronto next and will see another match tomorrow. Thanks for reading and Go Mavs!
