#MavericksInCanada Blog: Post #2
by Diego Gutierrez
Good evening, Maverick fans. Reporting to you live from Montréal, Québec, it's midfielder #10
Diego Gutierrez. After a wild first full day in Canada, I'm here to tell you about our second full day here!
I'm not sure about the others, but my day started at 8:30 a.m. when my alarm went off and let me know it was time to go for some breakfast. One snooze later, I went on down to get my first meal of the day -- a fantastic breakfast that included egg whites, pork sausage and waffles. Afterwards we went back to our rooms, where we had a little free time until 10:15 a.m. We all got in the pool and did a little recovery.
We were free to explore the city after our recovery session up until 5:15 p.m. We met in the lobby, got in our vans and went on our way to our second match. After a long trip to the field, we finally made it and warmed up before the game. The game was intense with a lot of fouls. After a very chippy (red card included) 0-0 first half, we finally broke the deadlock in the second half and won the game 2-0. Goals were scored by
Elvir Ibisevic (assisted by
Seth Rinderknecht) and the other goal off a corner by Seth. Shoutout to Nil Ayats for getting his first UNO assist on Seth's goal. I also had a good game...just putting that out there.
I want to take the time to give a shoutout to my friends and family back home. Without you guys, this wouldn't be possible. Bonne nuit from Montréal, lads.
