FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Omaha won its first Summit League road game since Oct. 5, 2014, defeating Fort Wayne 1-0 on Thursday evening at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
With the win, the Mavericks improved to 4-6-1 overall and 1-0 in Summit League play. The Mastodons dropped to 1-10 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.
Lydia Holtmann scored the game-winning goal in the 14th minute.
Carlie Cook played a cross into the box that found Holtmann, who gathered the pass and placed a shot that eluded Mastodon keeper Emma Gaggioli to give Omaha a 1-0 lead.
Fort Wayne increased its offensive pressure in the second half, but goalkeeper
Haley Johnson and the Maverick defense kept the Mastodons scoreless. Fort Wayne's Kallianne Mogler and Paityn Fleming each hit the post late in the game but were unable to score the equalizer.

- Omaha picked up its first Summit League road win since Oct. 5, 2014, when it topped Denver 3-2 in double overtime at CYBER Field.
- UNO's two road wins this season are the most since winning three games away from Caniglia Field in 2011.
- The shutout was only the second Summit League road clean sheet in program history. The other came in a 0-0 draw vs. South Dakota in 2014.
