SPOKANE, Wash. – The Omaha women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Gonzaga on Sunday evening at Lugar Field.  The Mavericks are now 0-2 overall, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-0.

Mallory Edwards had a chance to get Omaha on the board in the 7th minute, but her shot hit the crossbar.  The Zags dodged another Maverick scoring chance in the 13th minute as Lydia Holtmann's shot was saved by Isabel Jones.  Callie Best put Gonzaga ahead 1-0 with a shot from the top of the box in the 14th minute.

In the second half, Madeline Gotta received a pass from Maddie Cooley in the 71st minute and scored from 20-yards out to make the final score 2-0.

Turning Point
Best scored her first goal of the season for Gonzaga in the 14th minute for a 1-0 lead.
