LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Omaha men's basketball team faced its highest-ranked opponent of the Division I era Monday night, falling 109-64 to No. 13 Kansas at historic Allen Fieldhouse.
 
Leaders for Omaha
Senior Daniel Norl finished with a team-leading 13 points with a trio of 3-pointers and dished out a team-high three assists. Junior Zach Jackson, playing in his home state, recorded his second straight double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds alongside two assists and a steal.
 
Sophomore JT Gibson added nine points and three boards for the night, while freshman Ayo Akinwole chipped in another eight points on a 3-of-5 effort and a pair of triples. Freshman Matt Pile, also playing in his home state, had six points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
 
Leaders for Kansas
All five Jayhawk starters scored in double figures, led by Udoka Azubuike's double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Svi Mykhailiuk scored a game-leading 26 points on 6-of-7 shooting from three, followed by 17 points from Devonte Graham, who hit five treys. Lagerald Vick and Malik Newman rounded it out with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
 
Team Stats
Kansas shot .623 (43-of-69) from the field and .593 (16-of-27) beyond the arc while holding the Mavericks to .333 (22-of-66) for the night. The Jayhawks had the advantage on the glass, 49-26.
 
Inside the First Half
Kansas shot .588 (20-of-34) with 10 treys in the first half and had three players in double figures by the break. Jackson led the way for Omaha with six points and six rebounds in the opening 20 minutes. The Jayhawks closed the half on an 11-0 run, taking a 55-29 lead to the locker room.
 
Inside the Second Half
The KU scoring run extended into the second half, stretching to 18-0 with two Azubuike buckets and a Graham three for a 33-point lead just over two minutes in. Omaha later went on a four-and-a-half minute scoring drought, and KU took advantage by building a 14-0 run, followed shortly by another 9-0 spurt to surge further ahead. The Jayhawks finished at a .657 (23-of-35) clip in the second stanza.
 
Omaha is now 3-11 on the season, while KU improves to 9-2.
