OMAHA, Neb. – Dayton scored the tie-breaking goal at the 51:31 mark in the second half to beat the Omaha women's soccer team, 2-1, on Sunday at Caniglia Field.

The Mavericks are now 2-4 on the season, while the Flyers improved to 2-5 overall.

On the winning play, Sidney LeRoy sent a corner kick that found the head of Libby Leedom.  Leedom out jumped a Maverick defender and headed the ball home before Erin Bunker could stop the shot.

The Mavericks seized the first lead of the game early in the first half.  Lydia Holtmann received a goal kick and sent a pass ahead to Emily Romero.  Romero then found Carlie Cook who had slipped by a defender.  She shot it past an on-rushing Kaelyn Johns at 8:59.

The Flyers leveled the game late in the first half.  Sara Robertson intercepted a pass near midfield and dribbled past a pair of UNO defenders.  Robertson beat Bunker with a right-footed shot at 43:10.

Omaha and Dayton tied in shots, 14-14, and in shots on goal, 5-5.  Dayton held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.

Bunker made three saves on the afternoon for Omaha, while Johnson made four for the Flyers.
