PATTERSON, La. - Severe weather in southern Louisiana washed out the remaining play at the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate on Tuesday, ending the Omaha men's golf team's first event of the spring season.
All 13 teams in the tournament played just one round with the Mavericks finishing 11th after play yesterday. Louisiana Monroe took home the tournament title.
Kevin Gordon shot a round of 75 to lead the Mavericks, tying for 30th in the field of 72 golfers.
Mitch Ryan fired a 76 to tie for 36th while
Ben Maskus was third in scoring for the Mavericks and tied for 47th overall with a round of 77.
Sam Musch shot a score of 80 to finish 64th overall, and
Miles Russell completed the scoring for UNO with a round of 82, good for a tie for 65th place.
The Mavericks return to action at the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 7-8.
