Box Score OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha volleyball team began its final road trip of the season Tuesday night, falling 3-0 (17-25, 20-25, 19-25) to Denver at Hamilton Gymnasium. The Mavericks are now 7-22 (4-11 Summit League), while the league-leading Pioneers improve to 20-6 (12-2).
Sophomore
Kayla Torson paced Omaha with a match-high 11 kills with seven digs. Junior
Amanda Conlin and freshman
Ellie Brown each added eight kills, and Brown had a match-leading three blocks.

Sydney O'Shaughnessy totaled a match-high 30 assists along with eight digs, and freshman
Ashley Smith finished with a match-best 13 digs.
Denver was led by nine kills from Ruth Okoye, who hit .750 for the night with no attack errors. The Pioneers held the edge in hitting, .323 to .229, while Omaha had a 5.0 to 1.0 advantage at the net.
DU opened the match to an 8-4 lead to prompt Omaha's first timeout, then went on an 8-2 run to go up 16-6. The Pioneers, hitting .517 for the set, went on to win, 25-17.
Omaha built an early 6-4 lead in the second set, but DU responded with a 5-0 run to go up 9-6. The Mavericks then went back on top 10-9 with kills from Conlin, senior
Nicki Carson and freshman
Chloe Dousette, plus a Carson/Conlin stop, to force a DU timeout. After four ties brought the tally to 17-17, back-to-back aces by Andrea Eddy put the Pioneers ahead by two as Omaha called for a break. Two late kills by Nola Basey helped Denver finish the game with a score of 25-20.
After the intermission, Omaha started set three with a 6-5 lead on a Torson kill and a Dousette/Brown block. Denver, however, rallied with six unanswered points to take the lead for good, never allowing the Mavericks within less than four. DU seized the set at 25-19 with a final Okoye kill to cap the match.
