Mavericks Host Oral Roberts, Fort Wayne

The Omaha women's soccer team continues Summit League play this weekend at Caniglia Field, welcoming Oral Roberts on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. and Fort Wayne on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Noon.  Alex Abler and Noah Sullinger will have the call of the action in both matches, and links to live stats, audio and video, as available, will be listed on OMavs.com.

• Omaha was picked to finish seventh in the 2016 Summit League Preseason Poll.
• The Mavericks welcome six new players into the fold in 2016 including four true freshmen and a pair of junior transfers.
• Omaha returns 19 letterwinners, including eight starters from last season.
• UNO enters the match with an overall record of 2-8-2 after dropping a 2-0 match to North Dakota State last week.
Carlie Cook leads the team with four goals, and Emily Romero is tops with three assists.
• Junior defender Jessica Bollinger is the only player to start all 12 games this season.  Senior defender Katie Vanderzwaag leads the team with 954 minutes played.
• Redshirt senior goalkeeper Haley Shelton is in the Summit League's top five for saves (55) and save percentage (.821).
• Freshman goalkeeper Erin Bunker has appeared in four games with three starts and has a 1.39 goals-against average this season.
• Cook and Shelton have both earned Summit League Player of the Week honors this season with Cook earning accolades on Aug. 29 and Shelton on Aug. 22.
Don Klosterman is in his 18th season as head coach.

Scouting Oral Roberts
Oral Roberts enters the Friday's match with a record of 5-7-1 (0-1 Summit League).  In their Summit League opener, the Golden Eagles lost a 1-0 decision to North Dakota State.

Lexi Jones leads ORU with nine points on four goals and one assist.  Jones' four goals are tied for fourth-best in the conference.  Alexia Herrera has scored three goals while Chloe Basnett and Caitlyn Hanslovan have each scored twice.

Ryliegh Bohnenstiehl is 2-6-1 with a 1.41 goals-against average and a .755 save percentage.  Paige Vincent is 3-1 with a 1.20 goals-against average and a .688 save percentage.

Head coach Roger Bush is in his fourth season leading Oral Roberts with a career record of 34-29-7.  The Golden Eagles return to action Sunday at Noon as they play at South Dakota State.

Series History
Friday's contest is the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs.  ORU leads the series 3-0.

Scouting Fort Wayne
Fort Wayne enters the weekend with a record of 3-9 (0-1 Summit League) after falling to South Dakota State in its Summit League opener, 1-0.  The Mastodons host IUPUI on Friday before heading to Omaha.

Goalkeeper Kiley Dunning leads the Summit League with 84 saves and also ranks fourth with a .778 save percentage.  She is 3-8 on the season with a 2.00 goals-against average.  Kallianne Mogler is tied for fourth in the league with four goals. Chloee Foor has scored two goals this season along with a team-high two assists.

Head coach Jason Burr is in his third season at Fort Wayne with 9-36-4 record as well as an overall record of 66-67-14 in eight seasons.  The Mastodons return to action next weekend as they travel to Oral Roberts on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. (CT).

Series History
Sunday marks the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs.  Each team has won twice on its home pitch.
