OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha swimming & diving team continued its homestand Saturday afternoon at HPER Pool, falling to Northern Iowa, 169-131.
Four Mavericks combined to win five events on the afternoon.
Senior Morgan Stepp led Omaha with two individual victories (200 fly and 500 free). In the 200 fly, Stepp raced to the victory (2:06.65), finishing more than 6.5 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer from UNI. The Parker, Colo., native used a season-best time (5:08.19) in the 500 free to nab her second victory of the afternoon.
Three Maverick divers swept the 3-meter event, with junior Monica Houck grabbing the victory with a score of 236.40. Freshman Andrea Brosnahan finished second (232.05) and sophomore Annika Clinton took third (223.70).
Clinton also won the 1-meter event, penciling in a score of 225.65.
Junior Olivia McLain took the individual victory in the 100 fly. The Kansas City, Mo., native finished with a season best time of 57.80.
Omaha returns to action on Nov. 12 when conference foe South Dakota State comes to town. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from HPER Pool.
