Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Omaha volleyball team capped its weekend road trip Saturday night, falling 3-1 (11-25, 12-25, 26-24, 8-25) to Fort Wayne at Gates Sports Center. The Mavericks are now 5-19 (2-8 Summit League) on the season, while the Mastodons improve to 11-12 (7-3).

Chloe Dousette registered her sixth double-figure kill performance of the season on a team-high 10 kills. Freshman

Amanda Conlin followed with seven kills apiece, with Brown adding a team-leading four blocks and Conlin putting up two more blocks of her own.

Hannah Angeli narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with 27 assists, nine digs and three blocks. Senior
Nicki Carson matched Angeli's blocking performance, adding three more stops in addition to her team-high 16 digs and four kills.
Fort Wayne, which hit .312 as a team, was led by a double-double from Nicole Rightnowar, who had a team-best 16 kills with 10 digs. Somer Johnson added 14 kills, and Natalie Seiler had another 10.
Fort Wayne worked out to a 12-6 lead midway through the opening game, then pushed that an 18-6 advantage with six unanswered points. Supported by five kills from Johnson, the Mastodons won the set, 25-11.
In the next frame, three more Johnson kills bolstered a 9-0 Mastodon run, which gave Fort Wayne a 14-4 lead. A short 4-0 spurt later pushed the game to a 20-5 tally before back-to-back kills from Dousette and senior
Elise Brown and a Fort Wayne attack error made it 20-8. The Mastodons used three late kills by Lauren Hoffman to win 25-12 for a two-game edge.
Omaha came out hot in the third game, going up 8-4 as Brown smashed three early kills and Dousette added two more. Omaha later extended its lead to 14-9 on back-to-back kills by Conlin and Carson, plus a Fort Wayne attack error, which forced a Mastodon timeout. The Mavericks built their largest lead at 17-11, but Fort Wayne rallied with a 4-0 stretch to cut it to 17-15. Following an Omaha timeout, kills by Dousette and Conlin and a Carson/Angeli block put the Mavericks up by four at 20-16, but Rightnowar registered five kills out of the break, the last of which spurred Fort Wayne to a 23-22 lead. After another Rightnowar kill put the Mastodons up 24-23, Brown and Carson both hammered kills, and an ace from redshirt freshman
Meagen Roth sealed Omaha's win at 26-24.
Fort Wayne went up 6-0 to start the fourth set, prompting a Maverick timeout. Following kills from Carson, Roth and Brown and a Brown/Roth stop, the Mastodons went on a 15-0 scoring tear to go ahead 21-4. A Fort Wayne attack error and a Dousette kill finally halted the run, but the Mastodons went on to take the set, 25-8, and the match, 3-1.
