LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Omaha swimming & diving team closed out the 2015-16 regular season Saturday, falling to Big 12 foe Kansas, 187-88 at Robinson Natatorium.
Senior Natalie Renshaw grabbed a pair of second place finishes in her final regular season meet as a Maverick. Renshaw just missed the top spot in the 50 free, touching the wall at 24.47, while the Omaha native also finished runner-up in the 100 IM (1:00.48).
Freshman Kirsten Kracke had a strong showing in the 100 back, securing the second place finish with a time of 1:02.79. Junior Jamie Dhabalt also picked up a second-place finish in the 100 breast (1:11.28), finishing just ahead of sophomore teammate Chloe Kuehner who took third (1:11.83).
Junior Morgan Stepp put together a solid outing in the 500 free, as the Parker, Colo., product finished runner-up (5:11.14). Senior Miranda Knipfer also tallied a second-place output in the 1-meter dive (212.20), while freshman Isabelle Robuck secured the second spot in the 50 fly (27.76).
Omaha will head to the Summit League Championships, Feb. 17-20, in Indianapolis, Ind. Qualified swimmers will compete at the IU Natatorium for a chance to move on to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
