Box Score 2 OMAHA, Neb. -- The UNO volleyball team capped the Omaha Classic on Saturday at Sapp Fieldhouse with a pair of challenging matches, falling 3-2 (25-12, 25-18, 28-30, 22-25, 15-17) to Drake and 3-0 to UCF (14-25, 21-25, 11-25).

Kelley Wollak led the way with a double-double on a season-high 21 kills and 11 digs. Senior rightside hitter
Michaela Schimmer also owned a double-double on 13 kills and 11 digs with five blocks.

Megan Schmale had an outstanding showing with 17 kills on .640 hitting – her second-highest clip of the year -- alongside a match-high eight blocks and six digs. Sophomore setter
Sydney O'Shaughnessy narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with a season-best 50 assists and eight digs as well as three aces.

Mackenzie Horkey also reached double digits with her season-high 17 digs, as did senior libero
Kimberly Bailey with 21 digs. Horkey added eight kills for the afternoon, and Bailey tallied three aces.
DU was led by Makena Schoene's 27 kills, as well as 11 more from Kyla Inderski, who also chipped in 15 digs for a double-double. Rebecca Brown tallied another double-double with 40 assists and 13 digs.
Omaha opened the match strong with a 25-12 win in the first set and a 25-18 victory in the second. DU, however, outlasted the Mavericks 30-28 in the third game and 25-22 in the fourth to send the match to the deciding set. The fifth game proved another battle, with the Bulldogs breaking past a 15-15 tie to earn the 3-2 victory.
As a team, Omaha outhit Drake .200 to .162, outblocked the Bulldogs 12-10 and posted 12 aces to their five. It marked UNO's highest team ace total since registering 12 against Oakland on Oct. 6, 2012.
MATCH 2 -- UCF 3, OMAHA 0In the nightcap with UCF, Schmale paced the Mavericks offensively with 11 kills in addition to seven digs and five blocks. O'Shaughnessy notched her fourth double-double of the season on 24 assists and 12 digs with three stops at the net.
UCF leaned on double-double performances from Kia Bright (12 kills/11 digs) and Dana Faught (13 assists/10 digs). Abbie Fleener also finished in double figures with 11 kills, hitting .526 for the night.
As a team, the Knights put together a .253 attacking effort to best UNO's .025 and edged out the Mavericks in blocking, 9-8. UCF, which went a perfect 3-0 for the weekend, closed the tournament with the sweep, defeating UNO 25-14, 25-21 and 25-11.
Omaha is now 2-4 on the season. The Mavericks return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 9, hosting UC Davis at Sapp Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. Links to live stats will be available on OMavs.com.
