Omaha faced a 2-0 deficit after UC Davis won the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-16. In set three, the Mavericks stormed back to hit .372 as a team, helped by seven kills from Wollak, who finished with a .500 third-game attack percentage. UNO never trailed in the set, going up 8-3 to prompt a UCD timeout before another Wollak kill put the Mavs ahead by six. Omaha took its largest lead at 19-12 after two Wollak kills and another from sophomore outside hitter
Mackenzie Horkey. Consecutive kills by Squyres later pulled the Aggies within two at 24-22, but Schmale finished it off with a kill of her own for a set final of 25-22.
Schmale was Omaha's preferred target in the fourth game, tallying seven kills and hitting .429. Her two stops at the net also helped UNO outblock UCD 5-2 in the set. The Aggies held the lead until Omaha finally tied it at 18-18 on a block from Schimmer and senior middle blocker
Amy Taylor, forcing a timeout. The game then stalled four more times, pushing it to 26-26. But an Aggie service error and a solo block from Taylor was all Omaha needed to break free, earning the 28-26 win and tying the match at two games apiece.
In the deciding set, an early 4-0 run for Omaha included three straight kills by Schmale, Taylor and Wollak to tie it at 5-5. The Aggies responded with three consecutive scores to go up 8-5, then stretched their lead to 12-7. Squyres put down three late kills to bolster UCD, giving the Aggies the game five win at 15-10 and the match at 3-2.
