Omaha Men's Soccer Schedule Announced for 2015

OMAHA, Neb. – Head coach Jason Mims has released the Omaha men's soccer team's 2015 schedule, it was announced Monday. The Mavericks will be eligible for Summit League and NCAA postseason competition beginning this season. Last year, Omaha earned a share of the 2014 Summit League regular-season title.

In 2015, the Mavericks will play nine regular-season home matches at Caniglia Field and eight road matches, highlighted by visits to Marquette, DePaul, and Rutgers.

In mid-August, Omaha begins exhibition play with the Black-White Scrimmage on Aug. 15. The Mavs then host an NCAA Tournament squad with an exhibition against Washington on Aug. 22 at Caniglia Field for the third annual South Omaha Classic.

UNO opens the regular season with four straight home games, starting with Kansas City on Aug. 28 and Pacific on Aug. 30. Two more California schools visit Omaha to start the month of September: UC Irvine, a NCAA Tournament team last season, on Sept. 4 and Cal State Northridge on Sept. 6.

The Mavericks' first road contests of the year take them to Marquette on Sept. 11 and DePaul on Sept. 13. UNO returns home to host Bradley on Sept. 19.

Omaha plays its first Summit League match of 2015 when it travels to IUPUI on Sept. 26. UNO then hosts back-to-back conference matches, facing Fort Wayne on Oct. 3 and Western Illinois on Oct. 10.

On Oct. 17, the Mavericks will be challenged by Summit League postseason champion Denver. Omaha hosts its final home matches with Oral Roberts on Oct. 24 for Senior Day and non-conference foe Missouri State on Oct. 28.

UNO completes the regular season with a pair of road contests, squaring off with non-conference foe Rutgers on Oct. 31 and league peer Eastern Illinois on Nov. 7.

The top four teams in the regular-season standings qualify for the 2015 Summit League Championship, set for Nov. 12-14 in Denver, Colo. The tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
