TULSA, Okla. – Karl Krieser shot his eighth round below par this season to lead the Omaha men's golf team to a tie for fourth at the rain-shortened ORU Shootout on Tuesday.

The Mavericks posted a team score of 295 in the second round to finish in a tie with Midland Community College with a total score of 614.  The Mavs improved by 24 strokes from their first round which was played in heavy rain and wind.  Northern Iowa won with a score of 600, three strokes better than Missouri State which finished second.  Host Oral Roberts took third at 612.

Krieser shot 69 in round two, the second lowest round on the team this season.  The senior leads the Mavericks in sub-par rounds.  He finished in a tie for second with a score of 146.

Caleb Haight had UNO's second-best score of the day, 74, to put him at 154 for the tournament, good for a tie for 18th.  Phillip Baumberger was three strokes back at 157 after a final round score of 75.

Alex Holtan tied for 41st in the 76-player tournament with a score of 158 that included a final round of 77.  Taylor Sidzyik concluded the scoring for the Mavericks with a round of 80 for a total of 161 which put him in a tie for 57th.

Lucas Gervais, playing as an individual, shot 79 on Tuesday for a total of 168.

The Mavericks are back in action next week at the Beu/Mussatto Invitational hosted by Western Illinois on Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21.
