Lange Announces Summer Basketball Camp Dates

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's basketball coach Brittany Lange has announced the dates for the 2015 UNO Maverick Women's Basketball Summer Camp featuring five sessions.

The Skills Development Camps I and II will be held June 1-4.  The Skills Development Camp I will be open to girls entering 1st -5th grades in the Fall of 2015, while the Skills Development Camp II will be open to girls entering 6th – 8th grades in the fall. Early Bird discounts are available for both Skills Development Camps.

This summer we are introducing two team camps. Teams are able to come and compete against other school teams. All teams will be guaranteed three games. Team Camp I will be held on June 9 for girl's junior high and junior varsity basketball teams. Team Camp II will be open to high school varsity teams on June 10. 

The Elite Camp for girl's entering 9th – 12th grades will be held on June 11-12.  All sessions take place in the Sapp Fieldhouse on the Omaha campus.

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

INDIVIDUAL CAMPS

Skill Development Camp I (Entering 1st - 5th grades)
Dates: Monday, June 1 – Thursday, June 4 
Time: 8:30 a.m. to noon 
Cost: $ 120 per person
This four day camp provides young basketball players on-court instruction and insight to the fundamentals of basketball. Emphasis will be placed on developing essential skills, including offensive and defensive basics, shooting, ball handling, passing, proper exercising mechanics and more. Campers will walk away with a better understanding of basketball, teamwork and work ethic. The goal of the camp is to promote knowledge of basketball skills and to ensure a fun, positive experience for all participants.

Skill Development Camp II (Entering 6th-8th grades)
Dates: Monday, June 1 – Thursday, June 4 
Time: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. 
Cost: $ 120 per person
This four day camp is designed for those players looking to improve and develop their overall skills and knowledge of basketball. Campers will be challenged physically and mentally through skill and position development, as well as through competitive opportunities and play. The camp is geared toward those seeking opportunities to take their game to a higher level by learning the fundamentals of the game through footwork, shooting, passing, ball handling, rebounding and game concepts.

Elite Camp (Entering 9th - 12th grades)
Dates: Thursday, June 11 - Friday, June 12
Time:   Thursday, June 11--1 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday, June 12 – 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. 

Cost: $135 per person

This camp is for the athletes and players looking to take their game to the next level such as AAU, varsity or the collegiate level. High intensity offensive and defensive drills and competition will take place, as well as the refining of overall skills. Players will receive specific instruction regarding the development of post and guard play, as well as applying their skills during 5-on-5 competition. Lunch and dinner will be included.

Team Camps

Team Camp I (Junior high and junior varsity teams)
Dates: Tuesday, June 9
Time: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. 
Cost: $200 per team
Take advantage of competing against other school teams that will challenge and better prepare you for your school seasons. Teams who sign up are guaranteed to play three games in our main facility. Please contact us about further details & scheduling opportunities.

Team Camp II (High School Varsity Teams)
Dates: Wednesday, June 10
Time:  8 a.m. – 7 p.m. 
Cost: $250 per team
Take advantage of competing against other school teams that will challenge and better prepare you for your school seasons. Each team is guaranteed to play three games in our main facility. Please contact us about further details & scheduling opportunities. 

CAMP INFORMATION
Camp Benefits: Each camper will receive a Maverick women's basketball camp t-shirt.  Players partaking in the Skills Development camps will also receive a basketball.

Facilities: All camp instruction and play will take place at the Sapp Fieldhouse, located on the South end of the main UNO campus. 

Health Care/Physicals: All campers must carry their own health insurance. The University of Nebraska Omaha cannot be held responsible for injuries sustained at camp. A First Responder will be available on site for all camp sessions. Please notify camp staff and/or an athletic trainer in advance of any health conditions or needs. Each participant must have completed a recent school physical and must present a medical release form with a parent/guardian's signature.  

Camp Attire: All campers should wear appropriate basketball training gear and shoes. Basketballs will be provided.
