Amy Taylor rounded out the offensive leaders with 10 kills on a .474 hitting efficiency.
Defensively, senior libero

Omaha hit .228 as a team to South Dakota's .180 and outblocked the Coyotes 9-7 en route to sweeping the season series.
USD had three players finish with double-doubles for the night: Brittany Jessen (45 assists/20 digs), Audrey Reeg (14 kills/18 digs) and Hayley Dotseth (13 kills/18 digs).
South Dakota took an early lead in the first set, but the Mavericks used back-to-back kills from Schmale and Taylor, a Coyote attack error and a Schmale ace to go up 10-9. USD saw its last lead of the game at 12-11, after which Omaha went on 6-0 run with a combined three kills by Schimmer and Taylor, a Horkey ace and two USD miscues to go up 17-12. A Gdowski kill, an ace from freshman defensive specialist
Jessica Plake and a South Dakota attack error later made it 21-14, with a Dotseth kill halting the short Maverick run. It proved to be USD's final point of the set, as UNO put together a 4-0 closing drive with kills from Schmale and Horkey, a Coyote attack error and a Schmale/O'Shaughnessy block to win 25-15.
South Dakota led most of game two, taking a 24-19 lead before Omaha stormed back. The Mavericks rattled off five straight points on a USD service error, two Schimmer kills, and consecutive blocks by Schmale/Gdowski and Schimmer/Schmale, which tied the set at 24-24. South Dakota squeaked by, however, taking the set at 26-24 and knotting the match at 1-1.
Omaha held the early advantage in the third set, leading until the Coyotes tied it at 14-14. At 15-15, the Mavericks pulled ahead by three with back-to-back Horkey kills and a Gdowski ace, prompting a USD timeout. The Coyotes then locked it once more at 19-all, but UNO again posted three straight scores on two South Dakota errors and an O'Shaughnessy ace. Two plays later, Schimmer and Taylor hammered consecutive kills to make it set point at 24-20, and Taylor later capped it with another kill for a 25-22 win and a 2-1 match advantage.
In the fourth frame, Horkey led the charge with a .714 attacking clip, hitting 5-for-7 with no errors. Stuck at a 7-7 tie, Omaha broke through on a Schmale kill and a USD attack error to lead by two. The Mavericks later surged ahead to 17-12, punctuated by a Horkey kill and a pair of attacking miscues by the Coyotes. South Dakota managed to pull within one on a kill by Reeg, a Jessen ace and a UNO attack error, but a Taylor kill kept Omaha in the lead. The Coyotes made a push with a block by Reeg and Kelly Law, but the Mavericks responded promptly with another Horkey kill and a Schmale/O'Shaughnessy block to make it 24-21. After one last Coyote kill by Dotseth, Schmale put down a final kill to secure the 25-22 set win and the 3-1 match victory.
