NORMAL, Ill. – The Omaha swimming & diving team continued its road trip in Illinois Saturday afternoon, falling to Illinois State 190.5-108.5 at Horton Pool to close out the regular season.
Junior Natalie Renshaw and sophomore Morgan Stepp led UNO on the afternoon. The pair claimed two individual event wins and a second-place finish respectively.
Renshaw, a Millard North alum, took the top spot in the 200 free (1:54.86) and the 50 free, finishing with her second-best time of the year for the event at 23.69. Renshaw also placed second in the 100 free, touching the wall at 51.94.
Stepp earned event victories in the 500 free (5:10.65) and the 200 IM (2:11.12). The Parker, Colo., native also finished second in the 1000 free clocking in a season-best time of 10:41.67 for the event.
Senior Jenna Foiles took the victory in the 100 fly with a time of 59.72. The Albuquerque, N.M., native also had a second-place finish in the 50 fly (27.00).
Junior diver Miranda Knipfer closed the afternoon with a pair of top three finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. The Millard South alum finished third in the 1-meter event with a score of 233.54. Knipfer took the second in the 3-meter dive, penciling in a score of 252.00.
Omaha will now set its sights on preparing for the Summit League Championships, Feb. 18-21 in Indianapolis, Ind.
