Hansen Adds Thurman to 2014-15 Roster

OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha head men's basketball coach Derrin Hansen announced the addition of local product Tre'Shawn Thurman to the 2014-15 Maverick roster on Thursday.

Thurman, a 6-7, 220-pound forward, played four years for coach Eric Behrens at Omaha Central High School. He was part of three consecutive Class A state championship teams in his freshman, sophomore and junior years.

As a junior, Thurman was named second-team All-Metro, and he followed up with all-state and All-Metro honors in his senior campaign. That season, Thurman averaged 16.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

Thurman played AAU ball for coach Dan Archie at Omaha Sports Academy and coach Scott Hammer at Team Nebraska Express.

“Tre'Shawn comes from an Omaha Central program that has been highly successful, and we are excited to have him as a member of our team," Hansen said. "He is a dynamic player, especially with his size, length and athletic ability. Tre'Shawn fits our program's up-tempo style of play, and he has the ability to play multiple positions and make an immediate impact at UNO."
