Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's basketball team played its final non-conference game of the year on Wednesday, defeating Peru State, 86-62, at Ralston Arena. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 14-9 (3-4 Summit League), while the Bobcats remain 9-12.
Junior forward 
Mike Rostampour had a career day, posting career highs of 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Mavericks. The West St. Paul, Minn., native finished a perfect 10-for-10 from the field and added two assists, a steal and a block.
Junior guard 
CJ Carter joined Rostampour in double figures with 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, and senior guard 
Justin Simmons added 10 points with three steals and an assist.
Senior forward 
Matt Hagerbaumer, senior guard 
Caleb Steffensmeier and sophomore guard 
Devin Patterson matched Simmons with three steals each. Hagerbaumer was also flawless from the field, shooting 4-for-4 for the day.
As a team, Omaha shot 51 percent (34-of-67) from the field, while Peru State came in at 52 percent (26-of-50). The Mavericks finished with a season-high 18 steals and forced 28 Bobcat turnovers, from which they scored 39 of their 86 total points. 
Peru State was led by 12 points apiece from Kody Kirkpatrick and Taylor Christensen. Jesse Jones added nine points and six rebounds, and James Pierce had six points and six boards of his own. 
Omaha returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8, hosting Western Illinois. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Ralston Arena, and links to live stats, audio and video will be available on OMavs.com. KOZN 1620 AM will carry the game live with Gary Sharp and Grant Nieland on the call.
