Box Score DENVER, Colo. -- The Omaha volleyball team traveled to Denver on Sunday afternoon, falling 3-0 (17-25, 19-25, 22-25) at Hamilton Gymnasium. The Mavericks are now 7-11 (2-3 Summit League), while the Pioneers improve to 15-3 (4-0 Summit League).
Junior setter/rightside hitter
Michaela Schimmer led UNO with a season-best-tying 12 kills on .348 hitting, adding nine assists, six digs and two blocks. Freshman setter
Sydney O'Shaughnessy had a team-leading 16 assists and 10 digs for her ninth double-double, the most of any Maverick this year.
Junior outside hitter
Kelley Wollak added another eight kills, while junior middle blockers
Megan Schmale and
Amy Taylor and freshman outside hitter
Mackenzie Horkey each had five kills. As a team, Omaha hit .210 for the day.
Denver was led by two players with double-figure kills, led by 15 from Nola Basey and 12 from Moni Corrujedo. Bailey Karst had a match-best 35 assists in leading the Pioneers to a .361 team hitting percentage. DU also outblocked UNO, 4.5 to 3.
