Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team moved into the top half of the conference standings on Friday night, defeating North Dakota State 3-1 (25-23, 16-25, 25-23, 25-17) in a clash at Sapp Fieldhouse. With the win, Omaha improves to 7-10 (2-2 Summit League). NDSU falls to 6-11 (1-3 Summit League).
Omaha was led by a double-double from freshman setter
Sydney O'Shaughnessy, who tallied her fourth consecutive double-double on a career-high 44 assists and 10 digs. The Omaha Marian graduate added four kills and two blocks.

Mackenzie Horkey also finished with a double-double on a team-best 18 digs and 13 kills, hitting .357 for the night. Junior outside hitter

North Dakota State was led by 17 kills from Emily Miron, who hit. 455 for the night. Jenni Fassbender added 10 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, and Monica Claxton finished with 34 assists.
Omaha hit a solid .333 in the first set, with five kills apiece credited to Wollak (.556), Horkey (.400) and junior setter/rightside hitter
Michaela Schimmer (.364). After building an early 11-6 lead, NDSU tied it at 16-16. The Mavericks regained the lead, but it was quickly erased again as the Bison went up 22-20 on an Emily Minnick kill. UNO regrouped following a timeout, using a Wollak kill and an NDSU attack error to stall the score at 22-all. NDSU took the next point, but that was it, as kills by Horkey and senior middle blocker Jessi Schroedter gave the set to Omaha.
In the second set, North Dakota State came back to hit .333 as a team while holding the Mavericks to .118. The Bison put UNO in an early hole, and never relinquished the lead. NDSU jumped out to a 9-4 advantage and from there, the Bison went on an 11-3 run, helping them to a 25-16 set win.
The Mavericks led for much of game three, surging to an 18-10 advantage with back-to-back kills from Horkey and Schimmer. North Dakota State slowly chipped away, and a 7-1 run cut Omaha's lead to 21-20. An O'Shaughnessy kill and NDSU attack error then righted the ship, putting the Mavericks up by three. The Bison tied it at 23-23 on back-to-back UNO errors to spur a timeout by Omaha, but the Mavs stepped up to take the final two points on a kill from junior middle blocker

Omaha took control in the fourth game, hitting at a .303 clip while limiting NDSU's attacking to a .132 percentage. Wollak had six kills in the set, hitting .444, and O'Shaughnessy had 12 assists. UNO worked out to a 12-7 lead with two straight kills from Wollak, forcing an early NDSU timeout. The margin was never cut to less than three, and the Mavericks took it out to a 24-16 advantage with the help of a 7-1 scoring run. NDSU managed one more kill from Jessica Jorgensen, but Wollak put it away with a final kill of her own for the 25-17 set win and the 3-1 victory for the match.
