DENVER, Colo. – The Omaha swimming & diving team opened its road trip to Colorado on Saturday, facing Summit League peer Denver and non-conference foe Colorado State at El Pomar Natatorium in Denver. The Mavs finished 0-2 in the dual meet, falling to Denver, 211-71, and Colorado State, 221.5-61.5.
Omaha came out winless in the 15 total events, but the Mavs posted six season-best times, led by sophomore Morgan Stepp, who bested her times in three events. Stepp finished third in 200 fly with a time of 2:08.33, took fourth in the 200 IM (2:10.31) and placed seventh in the 200 back (2:27.57).
Senior Jenna Foiles finished sixth in the 50 free, as the Albuquerque, N.M., native posted a season-best time of 24.94.
Junior Natalie Renshaw took third in the 100 free, clocking in a season-best time of 52.15.
Foiles, Renshaw and freshmen Calli Yancey and Cassie Jahn combined to put together a fourth-place showing in the 400 free relay. The quartet posted a season-best time (3:41.32) in the event.
Omaha continues its road trip in Colorado, as the Mavs return to action on Monday at Northern Colorado. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. from Butler-Hancock Pool in Greeley, Colo.
