Box Score OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha volleyball team put together a dominant performance on Friday night, sweeping Oral Roberts 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19) at Sapp Fieldhouse. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 8-12 (3-4 Summit League), while the Golden Eagles drop to 9-11 (3-4 Summit League).

Michaela Schimmer led the way with 10 kills, hitting a career-best for the night with no attack errors.

Mackenzie Horkey each added seven kills, and Horkey chipped in a team-leading 11 digs with two blocks. Freshman setter
Sydney O'Shaughnessy had 26 assists, seven digs and three blocks.

Megan Schmale had five kills with a team-best five stops at the net. She led a Maverick squad that outblocked ORU, 8-1.
Omaha's offense was also on fire, as the Mavericks hit a season-high .308 to the Golden Eagles' .155.
Oral Roberts was led by 11 kills from Nika Mostahinic. Lucija Bojanjac totaled a match-best 32 assists, and Maggie DiPronio had a match-high 14 digs.
Schimmer shined in the first set, posting six kills with no attack errors. The Mavericks went up 12-9 on two of her consecutive kills, and back-to-back attack errors from ORU pushed it to 14-9 and spurred a timeout. The Golden Eagles put the score in their favor at 18-17, but four straight hitting errors by ORU put Omaha back on top, 21-18. The Mavericks used two final kills by Schimmer to put it away, winning 25-20.
In the second game, Omaha had four blocks and hit an outstanding .500 as a team with just one attack error. The Mavs spread out the offensive duties, as Horkey had four kills, Schmale and Wollak had three each, and Schimmer had two to lead the effort. UNO surged out to a 19-8 lead, followed by a 6-1 ORU run that cut it to 20-14. The Mavericks got back on track with kills from Horkey and O'Shaughnessy to make it 22-14, and two more kills by Wollak in the closing run gave Omaha the 25-16 set win and a 2-0 advantage.

Amy Taylor, as well as two each from O'Shaughnessy and Schimmer. After UNO went up 10-6, ORU brought it within one on a kill by Jovana Poljasevic. Omaha called a timeout and came back with a Wollak kill and a service ace by Schmale. The Mavericks never relinquished their lead from there, taking a six-point advantage at 19-13 on two Golden Eagle errors. Up 23-18, an O'Shaughnessy kill made it match point, and a final kill from Wollak finished it off at 25-19 for the sweep.
The win marked Omaha's first win in the all-time series against Oral Roberts, which had previously led 4-0 entering the night. The 3-0 victory also marked UNO's second sweep of the season.
