Grinnell, Iowa – Omaha swimming and diving moved into second place to close the Grinnell Invite with 766 points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, sophomore Natalie Renshaw, senior Madeline Hutt, junior Jenna Foiles, and senior Whitney Korgan took third place with a time of 1:49.02.
Freshman Morgan Stepp was a point-leader for UNO, taking third place in the 200-yard free (1:58.34). Senior Hannah Alexander followed behind Stepp in fourth place (1:59.55).
Senior Erin Wright clocked a personal, season-best time of 1:01.76 in the 100-yard fly to take third place.
The Mavs closed the Invite with a second-place finish in the 400-yard free relay. Foiles, Korgan, Renshaw, and Wright clocked 3:36.57.
In final standings, Gustavus Adolphus College won the Invite with 1184 points. UNO followed in second. Luther College took third with 747.5 points after falling behind the Mavs on Saturday. Grinnell College (643.5), Macalester College (435), Augustana College (426), St. Catherine University (364), Nebraska-Kearney (288.5), College of Saint Mary (177.5), Coe College (130), and Simpson College (129) rounded out the rest of the point standings.
UNO will return to action Friday, Jan. 24, at Northern Iowa. The team will finish its regular season at home on Saturday, Jan. 25, against Nebraska-Kearney at 2 p.m. Five Maverick seniors will be honored.
