“This was another outstanding day for us in blocking,” head coach
Rose Shires said. “I was very pleased with the gains we made as a team this weekend, being able to block some of the best hitters in the country and keeping them under a .200 hitting percentage.
I thought overall the weekend was a great success for us. Our players were resilient and competitive in a high-level volleyball environment, and their play escalated as the tournament went on. In our effort to continually improve and become a good Division I program, we know one of the things we have to focus on is alleviating our errors. That's something that will be a huge focus for us throughout the practice week.”
Omaha returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 25, traveling to Drake. The match is set for 7 p.m. at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa, and a link to live stats will be available on OMavs.com.
