Box Score OMAHA, Neb. -- The Omaha men's basketball team downed Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon, posting an 86-36 win at Ralston Arena. The Mavericks are now 5-3 (0-0 Summit League) on the year, while the Tigers drop to 1-3.
The 50-point margin of victory matched the second-largest margin of any Maverick team in the 
Derrin Hansen era.
Junior forward 
Mike Rostampour recorded a game-leading 13 points and eight rebounds, shooting a flawless 5-for-5 from the field. The West St. Paul, Minn., native added two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Sophomore forward 
Simon Krych added career highs of 12 points and seven rebounds, shooting 6-of-8 from the field with two helpers, a block and a steal.
Senior center 
John Karhoff and redshirt freshman guard 
Jalen Bradley joined the ranks of double-figure scorers, tallying 11 points apiece. Karhoff's total moved him up to 1,019 career points, which ranks 29th in school history.
Senior forward 
Matt Hagerbaumer added six points and pulled down eight boards to match Rostampour's game-leading total.
Iowa Wesleyan was led by eight points from Michael Neff, who added four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Steven Archibald grabbed five rebounds and chipped in seven points for the day.
Omaha shot 55 percent (35-of-64) from the field, 29 percent (4-of-14) from long range and 75 percent (12-of-16) from the free throw line. Wesleyan came in at 23 percent (13-of-56) from the floor, a 23 percent clip (6-of-26) from 3-point range and 67 percent (4-of-6) at the charity stripe.
The Mavericks outrebounded the Tigers, 45-29, and forced 15 turnovers while committing just six themselves.
UNO, which shot 63 percent in the first half, opened to a 21-0 lead to start the game after Iowa Wesleyan was cold on its first 11 shots. The run was broken by an Archibald jumper at 12:58, but a 3-pointer from sophomore guard 
Marcus Tyus sparked another 13-0 Maverick spurt. That run was capped off with a dunk from Krych and a Bradley layup before Max Kearns hit a three to make it 34-5 with 7:15 to go. The Mavericks took their largest lead of the half with 1:22 remaining, going up 54-13 on the way to a 54-18 halftime advantage. UNO's 54 first-half points were the most scored since 55 against Lincoln University in 2010-11, and IWC's 18 first-half points were the fewest allowed by a UNO team since York had 14 in 2005-06.
Coming out of the locker room, Omaha put up another 10 straight points to push it to a 64-20 lead with 14:45 left to play. The Mavericks took their largest lead of the game at 6:12, bringing the tally to 82-29. Helped by 4-of-4 shooting and nine second-half points from Rostampour, UNO closed out the game with a final score of 86-36.
