Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball team closed the 2013 season on Sunday afternoon, falling 3-0 to Denver by set scores of 17-25, 14-25, 20-25 at Sapp Fieldhouse. The Maverick finish the year with a record of 7-22 (2-12 Summit League), while the Pioneers come in at 16-11 (10-4 Summit League).
Omaha was led by sophomore
Michaela Schimmer, who had nine kills on .389 hitting with seven assists, 10 digs and a block. Sophomore
Diane Banderas hit .429 with seven kills and a block, and sophomore
Kelley Wollak totaled six kills, six digs and two stops.

Megan Schmale led the Mavericks at the net, notching a match-best three blocks. Sophomore
Bailey Baxter totaled 17 assists with seven digs, and sophomore
Kimberly Bailey finished with a match-leading 13 digs of her own.
DU was paced by Moni Corrujedo's 19 kills on .410 hitting with nine digs. Setter Tori Moons finished with 39 assists and 10 digs for a double-double, guiding the Pioneers to a .321 team attack percentage. Libero Kate Acker added 13 digs for the afternoon.
Denver goes on to the 2013 Summit League Championship, Nov. 22-24, in Indianapolis, Ind. UNO, which is in the midst of its third year as a reclassifying NCAA Division I institution, is not eligible for the postseason tournament until 2015-16.
