Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha volleyball began its final weekend of the 2013 season on Friday night, knocking off conference leader South Dakota with a 3-2 home win by set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 27-29, 25-22, 17-15. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 7-21 (2-11 Summit League), while the Coyotes drop to 18-11 (9-4 Summit League).
Sophomore
Michaela Schimmer posted her fifth triple-double of her career and her second of the season in the victory, finishing with 12 kills, 26 assists and 20 digs. She also hit .393 and added three blocks.

Kelley Wollak also had her sixth double-double with a career-high-tying 17 kills and 19 digs and hit .326 for the night. Sophomore
Bailey Baxter added a double-double with 25 assists and 13 digs, marking her 10th such performance.

Megan Schmale tallied 12 kills along with seven blocks, and sophomore
Amy Taylor had 10 kills with six blocks. Freshman
Kristy Wieser chipped in 12 digs and five blocks, and sophomore
Kimberly Bailey notched 16 digs.
South Dakota was led by 28 kills from Kendall Kritenbrink, who had a double-double with the addition of 12 digs. Melissa Firtko (18 kills), Kelsey Biltoft (11) and Sydney Dimke (10) also finished in double figures, and setter Tori Kroll totaled 63 assists with 17 digs for her double-double.
Blocking was key for the Mavericks, as Omaha outblocked USD, 14-7. The Mavericks also outhit the Coyotes, .229 to .189, despite taking 33 fewer swings for the night.
