Box Score MACOMB, Ill. -- The Omaha volleyball team dropped a match at Western Illinois on Saturday, falling 3-0 (21-25, 19-25, 23-25) at Western Hall. The Mavericks are now 6-17 (1-7 Summit League), while the Leathernecks improve to 10-13 (4-4 Summit League).
Sophomore
Kelley Wollak and freshman
Kristy Wieser led Omaha with seven kills apiece. Wieser added nine digs, and Wollak had eight of her own.
Two Maverick sophomores finished with double-doubles, as
Michaela Schimmer had 12 assists and 10 digs with two service aces, and
Kimberly Bailey totaled 11 assists and 14 digs. Schimmer's was her team-leading 10th double-double of the season, while Bailey's was her first of the year.
Sophomore
Bailey Baxter narrowly missed a double-double of her own with nine assists and 15 digs with an ace.
Western Illinois had two players with double-double performances: Ann Miller (10 kills, 10 digs) and Heather Smith (13 kills, 11 digs). As a team, the Leathernecks hit .176 to UNO's .124.
Omaha returns to Sapp Fieldhouse next weekend, hosting IUPUI on Friday, Nov. 1 and Fort Wayne on Sunday, Nov. 3. Links to live stats and video will be available on OMavs.com.
