INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Omaha volleyball team closed its weekend road swing Saturday, falling 3-0 (21-25, 10-25, 21-25) to IUPUI. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 6-11 (1-4 Summit League), while the Jaguars improve to 11-6 (5-1 Summit League).
Freshman
Kelley Wollak led UNO with 13 kills on .455 hitting with five digs and a block. Fellow freshman
Megan Schmale added nine kills with no errors for a .562 attack percentage and a team-best seven blocks.
Freshman
Amy Taylor also had an outstanding effort at the net, totaling six blocks. Senior
Amy Roberts chipped in 11 digs, and redshirt freshman
Bailey Baxter finished with 19 assists and six digs.
As a team, the Mavs hit .208 to IUPUI's .337, but UNO managed to outblock the Jaguars, 7-3.
IUPUI was paced by 17 kills from Kaitlyn Hickey and another 11 from Mariah Fair. Hickey finished with a .400 attacking clip for the day.
Omaha returns to action on Friday, Oct. 5, hosting Fort Wayne at Sapp Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
