MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Omaha volleyball team faced its highest-ranked opponent of the season on Saturday, falling 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 21-25) to No. 11 Kansas State at Ahearn Field House. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 5-9 (0-2 Summit League) on the year, while K-State improves to 13-1 (0-1 Big 12).

Natalie Ebke paced UNO with 11 kills on .296 hitting and five digs. Freshman
Megan Schmale had another strong performance for the weekend, totaling seven kills with just one error and a .462 attack percentage, along with one block. Freshman
Kelley Wollak and redshirt freshman
Valerie Hecht added six kills and five kills, respectively.

Amy Roberts chipped in a team-best eight digs. Sophomore

As a team, UNO hit .213 for the day, aided by a .357 clip in the third set.
Kansas State was led by two players with double-figure kill performances: Lilla Porubek (11) and Kaitlynn Pelger (10). Setter Caitlyn Donahue had 35 assists in leading the Wildcats to a .433 team hitting percentage.
Omaha resumes conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 25, traveling to Kansas City. The match is set for 7 p.m. at Swinney Recreation Center in Kansas City, Mo.
