LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Omaha volleyball team outblocked Tulsa in its final match of the Kansas Invitational on Saturday, but it was not enough to get past the Golden Hurricane, as the Mavericks fell 3-0 by set scores of 18-25, 15-25, 23-25 at the Horejsi Center. UNO is now 3-3 on the season, while TU improves to 4-3.
Redshirt freshman
Bailey Baxter tallied her second career double-double with 11 assists and 10 digs for the day. Senior
Natalie Ebke had a team-leading seven kills and nine digs, while freshman
Michaela Schimmer had five kills, 15 assists, five digs and five blocks. Sophomore
Jessy Schroedter also tallied five kills with a pair of stops at the net.

Amy Roberts' 13 digs were a team high, and redshirt freshman
Valerie Hecht totaled six blocks to lead the UNO blocking effort. As a team, the Mavs outblocked Tulsa 10-4, marking the third time UNO has led a match in team blocks this season.
Tulsa, the defending Conference USA champion and a 2011 NCAA Tournament qualifier, was paced by Tyler Henderson's 22 kills on .514 hitting. Kellie Culbertson also finished in double figures with 10 kills and 10 digs, and setter Jordan Clampitt's 36 assists guided TU to a .280 team attack percentage. Jessica Adams added 23 digs, and Ashley Hooper finished with three blocks.
Omaha returns to action with its home debut on Tuesday, Sept. 4, hosting Big East opponent Syracuse. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Sapp Fieldhouse.
