CARBONDALE, Ill. - Melyssa Doerr had UNO's top score on Tuesday as the UNO women's golf team earned a 14th-place finish at the Saluki Invitational at Southern Illinois.

The Mavericks finished with a team score of 666 after posting a combined score of 338 today.  Host Southern Illinois won the 17-team event with a score of 608, 10 strokes clear of runner up Iowa.  IUPUI was third at 627.

Doerr shot 81 over the 6,075-yard layout at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course.  She finished with a two-day score of 163 to lead the Mavs in the tournament.  She tied for 42nd overall.

Rebecca Pollock shot an 85 on Tuesday to finish one stroke behind Doerr and in 45th place overall.  Elizabeth Havekost, who with Pollock led UNO with a 79 on day one, shot 87 in round two for a two-round total of 166, putting her in seven-way tie for 49th.

Brooke Thilges shot 85 in round two to finish at 173 and in a tie for 78th overall.  Danielle Kuchar rounded out the scoring for UNO with a 36-hole total of 182 after carding 90 on Tuesday.

The Mavericks are back on the course on Sunday, April 1 at the IPFW Spring Classic.
