OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha swimming and diving team defeated Northern Iowa, 149-145, in a midseason meet at HPER Swimming Pool Friday night.
The meet started off with a concrete victory in the 200 yard medley relay. The team was made up of
Natalie Renshaw,
Hannah Alexander,
Jenna Foiles and was anchored by
Hannah Johnson and finished with a time of 1:51.52.

Mattie Fosbender took first in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:02.91) and Junior
Maddie Hutt followed in second (11:05.42)

Erin Wright continued UNO's momentum with a first-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, clocking a time of 1:58.52. Freshman
Natalie Renshaw posted first in the 100 yard backstroke (59.42).

Lexi Bergeron and freshman
Jordane Linhart swept the 100 yard breaststroke. Alexander (1:10.33) out-touched Bergeron (1:10.36) and Linhart took third (1:11.40).
The 50 yard freestyle added another sweep for the Mavs. Junior
Whitney Korgan, Johnson and senior
Anna Haxby posted times of 24.90, 25.10 and 25.17, respectively. Korgan added a second first-place finish in the 100 yard freestyle (54.37), while Johnson followed in second place (55.21).
Foiles took her first individual first-place finish of the night in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:12.99).
Senior
Katie Maier posted first place in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:32.28) and Wright followed in second (2:33.67).
“Tonight was a very good night for Omaha swimming and diving,” said Head Coach
Todd Samland. “We had a great crowd and some extremely good mid-season swims. It was nice to be competitive in the middle of the season.”
The Mavs compete again at the Kansas Classic in Topeka, Kan. on Nov. 16.
