FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Omaha volleyball team closed its final road weekend Saturday night, falling 3-0 to Fort Wayne by set scores of 17-25, 10-25 and 19-25 at Gates Sports Center. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 6-20 (1-13 Summit League), while the Mastodons improve to 22-5 (11-3 Summit League).
Freshman
Michaela Schimmer paced Omaha with eight kills, 14 assists, seven digs and four blocks while hitting .500 with no attack errors.
Sophomore
Jessy Schroedter added seven kills, two digs and a block. Redshirt freshman
Valerie Hecht chipped in four kills with three blocks, and freshman
Megan Schmale also had a pair of stops to help the Mavericks outblock IPFW, 5-3.

Kimberly Bailey totaled a team-best three service aces, while senior
Amy Roberts had another ace and 11 digs. Redshirt freshman
Bailey Baxter's 13 digs led UNO for the night, and she added another eight assists.
Senior
Natalie Ebke finished with two kills and seven digs, bringing her within 25 of the UNO career top 10 for digs.
IPFW was led by Emily Spencer, who finished with a double-double on 15 kills and 11 digs along with .371 hitting and two solo blocks. Setter Megan Steenhuysen totaled 38 assists, helping the Mastodons to a .318 team attack percentage.
Omaha closes the 2012 season next weekend, hosting Kansas City on Thursday, Nov. 8 and South Dakota on Saturday, Nov. 10. Thursday's 7 p.m. match is part of UNO's campus-wide Homecoming Week celebration, and fans are encouraged to wear white shirts as part of a “White Out.” Saturday's match is Senior Night, during which the volleyball program will celebrate the careers of its three seniors – Ebke, Roberts and
