VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Omaha volleyball team returned to action Monday night, dropping a 3-1 match (10-25, 25-23, 18-25, 18-25) to South Dakota at the DakotaDome. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 6-16 (1-9 Summit League), while the Coyotes improve to 10-14 (4-8 Summit League).
Senior
Natalie Ebke finished with a team-leading 14 kills on .243 hitting and nine digs. Freshman
Kelley Wollak added nine kills, eight digs and two blocks, and freshman
Michaela Schimmer chipped in eight kills and two stops of her own.

Kimberly Bailey and
Bailey Baxter both posted double-doubles, with Bailey's third of the year coming on 21 assists and 11 digs, and Baxter's seventh of the season on 18 assists and 10 digs. Senior
Amy Roberts tallied a match-best 18 digs, and senior
Chelsea Snyder led the way at the net with a match-leading four blocks.
As a team, UNO hit .118 for the night to USD's .262, and the Mavericks posted seven total team blocks. Omaha outdug the Coyotes, 60-59.
South Dakota was paced by 20 kills from Kendall Kritenbrink, who hit .300 for the night and added five digs and four blocks. Tori Kroll had 39 assists, and three Coyotes had double-figure dig efforts -- Riley Haug (17), Kim Bulaga (12) and Katie Bunkers (10).
Omaha returns to action this weekend, hosting IUPUI on Friday, Oct. 26 and Western Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Sapp Fieldhouse. Links to live stats and live video will be available on OMavs.com.
