FARGO, N.D. – The Omaha volleyball team wrapped up its weekend swing Saturday night, falling 3-0 (12-25, 18-25, 21-25) to defending conference champion North Dakota State at Bentson Bunker Field House. With the loss, the Mavericks drop to 6-15 (1-8 Summit League) on the year, while NDSU improves to 8-12 (5-4 Summit League).
Freshman
Kelley Wollak led the Mavericks with six kills and eight digs, while fellow freshman
Megan Schmale had five kills and six blocks for the night. Senior
Natalie Ebke added another four kills, and redshirt freshman
Valerie Hecht chipped in three kills on .375 hitting. Senior
Amy Roberts put up a double-figure effort with 13 digs.
North Dakota State was paced by two players with double-figure kill performances – Carissa Whalen (12) and Megan Lambertson (10). Setter Catherine Yager totaled a match-leading 35 assists in guiding the Bison to a .240 team attacking percentage.
As a squad, UNO finished with eight team blocks. The Mavericks' top hitting effort came in the third set with a .078 performance.
Omaha returns to action on Monday, Oct. 22, traveling to South Dakota.
