LAWRENCE, Kan. --The UNO swimming & diving team competed in its third consecutive road meet Saturday morning, falling 150-78 to Kansas at the Robinson Natatorium.
The Mavericks' 200-yard freestyle relay team was the lone first-place finisher of the day for UNO. Junior Cami Hansberry, and sophomores Whitney Korgan, Kylie Rathbone and Tiesha Scipio swam to first in a time of 1:39.82.
Hansberry and Scipio also had second-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle with times of 24.75 and 53.74, respectively.
Freshman Jenna Foiles clocked a time of 1:02.46 in the 100-yard backstroke, enough to finish in second. Freshman Lexi Bergeron swam to a second-place finish in the 500 yard-freestyle in a time of 5:22.16.
Freshman Maddie Richardson finished second in the one-meter diving with a score of 205.11 and third place in the three-meter diving, chalking up a score of 212.62. Junior Katie Maier finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.87.
Both of the Jayhawks divers, junior Christy Cash and sophomore Alyssa Golden qualified for the NCAA Zone 'D' Diving Championships last March. Cash finished first in both diving events with a 267.78 in the three-meter diving and chalked up a 289.04 in the one-meter competition. Golden placed second in the three-meter competition with a score of 254.48.
The Mavericks return to action Friday, Dec. 2 in Omaha to host the Mutual of Omaha Invite.
