WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The UNO volleyball faced a former MIAA foe Saturday night, falling 3-0 (18-25, 20-25, 16-25) at Central Missouri's Multipurpose Building. With the loss, the Mavericks drop to 4-18 on the year, while the Jennies improve to 16-3.

Senior middle blocker Brittany Hanssen and junior outside hitter Sydney Fleege led Nebraska Omaha with eight kills apiece. Senior setter Emily Myers had 28 assists and a team-leading three blocks, while Hanssen and junior middle blocker Lizzy Mach chipped in two stops each. Senior libero Angie Reicks added 14 digs for the night.

UCM was paced by 11 kills apiece from Allie Huffman and Paula Harris. Kelsey Ortwerth and Taylor Krejci totaled 13 and 10 digs, respectively, and Julia Bates finished with a match-leading 38 assists. As a team, the Jennies hit .294 to UNO's .194.

In the first set, Central Missouri went out 6-3 before back-to-back kills from Fleege and Mach cut it to one. Another Fleege kill kept it at 7-6, but the Jennies took it out to 11-7. Three straight UCM errors helped the Mavs come within one again, but Central Missouri never surrendered their lead and took the game at 25-18.

In game two, the two teams traded leads until 17-17, when UCM put down three straight kills by Harris and Taylor Goodness to make it 20-17. UNO managed two more scores, but it was not enough as the Jennies finished it off for a 25-20 victory.

The two squads kept the score knotted at 5-5 early in the third set, but the Jennies kept a consistent lead to go ahead 20-15. A final 5-1 run sealed the Jennies' win at 25-16 and the match sweep.

UNO returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 11, traveling to South Dakota. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
