USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- The UNO swimming and diving team competed in its first away dual on Saturday, falling 189-86 to Air Force at Cadet Natatorium.
Freshman Lexi Bergeron led the Mavs in their only first-place finish of the day, posting a time of 11:07.19 in the 1000-yard freestyle.
Sophomore Kylie Rathbone picked up two second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:07.98. and 1:01.94, respectively.
Freshman Christen Young also placed second when she clocked a time of 2:23.64 in the 200-yard individual medley.
UNO's relay teams finished second in the 400 free and third in the 200 medley. The 400 free team of freshman Ashley Kneifl, senior Kylie Hubbell, sophomore Whitney Korgan and junior Cami Hansberry clocked a time of 3:44.40. The 200 medley team of junior Cami Hansberry, sophomore Madeline Hutt, senior Colleen Klaiber and sophomore Tiesha Scipio finished in a time of 1:49.95, less than a second behind Air Force's first-place finish.
Nebraska Omaha returns to action on Monday, Oct. 17, traveling to Northern Colorado. The dual is slated to begin at 6 p.m. in Greeley, Colo.
