OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO volleyball team posted a 3-0 sweep of Fort Hays State Friday night at Sapp Fieldhouse, snapping a three-game losing skid. The Mavs took three straight games, 29-27, 25-11, 25-20, to improve to 9-4 (2-3 MIAA), while FHSU dropped to 3-9 (0-4 MIAA) on the year.

Kayla Uhing (10). Ebke added 14 digs for her fifth double-double of the year, while she and freshman
Abby Sorensen also chipped in three service aces apiece.

Emily Myers contributed 39 assists, five digs, a block and a kill for the night.
Tracie Hileman topped the charts for Fort Hays State, finishing with 12 kills and 15 digs.
After Nebraska-Omaha took a 13-8 lead in game one, the Tigers clawed back to match the score at 15-all. UNO maintained a lead until FHSU chipped away again to tie it six more times, until two kills from Uhing put away the win at 29-27.
In the second set, Fort Hays went out to an early 4-1 advantage, but the Mavs tied it on a kill by freshman
Megan Hutson and two straight aces from Sorensen. At 7-7, Nebraska-Omaha went on a 12—1 run highlighted by three kills apiece by Ebke and Hanssen to make it 19-8. An ace and a kill from Ebke, along with another from freshman
Ali Jansen on the first play of her collegiate career, helped to extend the lead. The Mavericks' .353 hitting bested FHSU, which finished with a .000 team hitting percentage in the set en route to the 25-11 victory.
The third and final game remained close, with the score tied seven times until 13-13. UNO soon went up by four points on four straight FHSU attack errors, and two straight aces by Reicks made it 22-17. Though kills by Camille Hubert and Hileman kept the Tigers in the hunt, the Mavericks outlasted Fort Hays, 25-20, with a final kill by Uhing to seal the win.
UNO returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, hosting Emporia State at Sapp Fieldhouse at 3 p.m.
