CEDAR FALLS, Iowa- The Maverick swimming and diving team was edged by Northern Iowa, 146-142 on Saturday afternoon at the Glen F. Henry Swimming and Diving pool. UNO split the weekend with a win Friday evening at Minnesota State.

Laura Kemp and freshman Cami Hansberry# continued to dominate the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.25 and a first place finish.

Chelsea Hartman# picked up a win in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.63. Later, fellow freshman #
Ashton Porter# would finish on top in the 200 yard butterfly nearly three seconds ahead of Northern Iowa's Kelly Rose McCullough with a time of 2:14.75.
Hopkins and Kemp picked up two more individual first place finishes for the second night in a row. Hopkins finished on top in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.16 and in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.18. Kemp finished at 2:29.44 in the 200 yard freestyle and at 2:13.94 in the 200 yard individual medley.
UNO also picked up a top finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Klaiber, Hopkins, senior #
Lisa Elworth and junior Lucy Zamecnik# swam to a time of 3:38.10.
The Mavs will return to the pool when they host the Iowa State Cyclones on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. in the HPER Pool.
