Andrew Bridger# had another double-double and the Mavs shot 52 percent as a team and took care of the basketball in a 99-91 win at No. 16 Southwest Baptist Thursday night.
Nebraska-Omaha topped its first ranked opponent of the season and improved to 13-2 overall and 6-2 in the MIAA. The Mavericks improved to 4-0 in road games. They'll be tested again Saturday at Missouri Southern in a 3:30 p.m. game.
Matt Rogers, the reigning MIAA most valuable player, scored 36 points with 20 rebounds for the Bearcats. Kurtis Koening added 22 but those two big performances weren't enough to top UNO's balanced effort.
Bridger was 6-for-11 from the field for 18 points and he had 10 assists to record his second double-double of the year and fifth double-figure assist game.

Jeff Martin had 13 points for the Mavs and Torrian Harris# and
Eugene Bain each added 12. #
Matt Newman# was 3 for 3 from 3-point range to get him 11 points.
The Mavs complemented their 52 percent effort from the field with a 55 percent effort from 3-point range. The Bearcats shot 42 percent overall and 28 percent from long range.
The Mavericks struggled from the free throw line going 59 percent while SBU was 90 percent. SBU won the rebound battle, 45-40 but turned the ball over 13 times while the Mavs gave it up just nine times.
