OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks scored 41 points in the second half to beat intra-state rival Nebraska-Kearney Friday night at  Sapp Fieldhouse, 68-58. 

With the win, Nebraska-Omaha ends its three-game skid to the Lopers and improves to 6-4 overall on the year. The loss dipped UNK to 2-7. The Mavericks are now 10-19 all-time against the Lopers.

#Alyssa Green# led the Mavericks with 18 points. The senior guard also grabbed six boards and snatched four steals in the game. Green scored 13 of her 18 in the second half.

UNO took a 27-25 lead into halftime. The Mavericks came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Lopers 41-33. The scored was tied at 56 with just over 12 minutes left in the second half. From there, UNO held UNK to just two points the rest of the contest and piled up a 10-point lead en route to the win.

Freshman guard #Paige Frauendorfer# turned in her best game as a Maverick. She scored a career-high 14 points and collected six rebounds off the bench.

Freshman #Kiley Herold# grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and added six points in 21 minutes of action on the night.

UNO's bench outscored UNK's, 25-9.

The Mavericks will have 12 days off for winter break before hosting Emporia State on December 31 at 12 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse. They will then host Missouri Western on January 2 to wrap up a four-game homestand.
